Western Credits: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

We created western-style opening titles today. This is based on the editing of the film The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. This was what I managed to do:

• I added a colour matte so that I could see the images that were hidden by the black background. I played around with colour changes and this really made the video more interesting.

• I started to work with the motion of the images; rotating them, moving them, and zooming into them. This added a more playful and interactive element to the video and it was great fun to do.

• The titles were then added in different fonts and sizes. As shown above, my fonts were very inconsistent and this is because I wanted to try out a new one with each line of text. It may look unprofessional, but this is just for experimental support.

• Sound effects and music were added to complement the timing and rhythm of the images. It was difficult to match their transitions perfectly, but by increasing the scale of the timeline, a clearer view of the movement was shown.
